Sensex down 77pts; Bharti declines 5%

The Sensex is now down 77 points at 20,299.

Bharti Airtel has plunged 4.8% to Rs 1,003. Maruti has slipped 2% to Rs 1,055.

ICICI Bank has shed 1.5% at Rs 1,270. HDFC Bank and Satyam have dropped 1.3% each to Rs 1,760 and Rs 426, respectively.

Wipro, ONGC and HDFC are down 1% each at Rs 500, Rs 1,242 and Rs 3,071, respectively.

ITC has zoomed 5% to Rs 198. Hindalco has soared 3% to Rs 212.

Mahindra & Mahindra has surged nearly 3% to Rs 810, and Tata Steel has gained 2.3% at Rs 884.

DLF and Cipla have moved up 1.8% each to Rs 1,040 and Rs 203, respectively.

Ranbaxy has advanced 1.5% to Rs 414. Bajaj Auto and Tata Motors have added 1% each to Rs 2,810 and Rs 778, respectively.

Out of 2,845 stocks traded so far, 2,122 have advanced, 690 have declined and 33 are unchanged.
