Sensex down 78pts; ACC spurts 2%

After tumbling to an intra-day low of 11,345, the Sensex recovered and touched a high of 11,773. The index is now down 78 points at 11,757.

The index has now recovered and is down 160 points at 11,675.

ACC has spurted nearly 2% to Rs 950.

HLL, Bajaj Auto, Bharti Tele, Larsen & Toubro and Hero Honda have also rebounded into positive zone.

Cipla has slumped 4% to Rs 250. HDFC Bank has dropped 2.8% to Rs 800.

Hindalco and Tata Steel are down over 2% each at Rs 212 and Rs 625, respectively.

Wipro, ONGC, TCS, Tata Motors, Satyam and HDFC are the other prominent losers.
