Sensex down 79pts; Bajaj Auto rallies 3%

The Sensex is now down 79 points at 17,687.

The NSE Nifty is down six points at 5,196.

Satyam has plunged 2.6% to Rs 427, and Maruti has slipped 2.3% to Rs 811.

DLF has dropped nearly 2% to Rs 849. HDFC Bank and Infosys have declined 1.5% each to Rs 1,514 and Rs 1,525, respectively.

HDFC, Larsen & Toubro and Grasim are down over 1% each at Rs 2,827, Rs 3,469 and Rs 2,818, respectively.

Bajaj Auto has rallied 3% to Rs 2,138. ONGC and BHEL have surged over 2% each to Rs 1,048 and Rs 2,275,  respectively.

Tata Steel, Hindustan Unilever, Ranbaxy and Hindalco have moved up nearly 2% each to Rs 793, Rs 207, Rs 387 and Rs 167, respectively.
