Sensex down 80pts; Satyam down 5.5%

The Sensex is now down 80 points at 14,138.

Satyam has shed 5.5% to Rs 487. Wipro and Ranbaxy have tumbled around 3.5% each to Rs 619 and Rs 416, respectively.

Cipla has dropped 2.5% to Rs 252. Reliance Energy has slipped 2.3% to Rs 516.

Tata Steel and ONGC are down around 2% each to Rs 466 and Rs 900, respectively.

BHEL has declined 1.7% to Rs 2,261. Infosys, Bajaj Auto, NTPC, SBI, Tata Motors, Maruti and Larsen & Toubro are down over 1% each.

ITC has gained 1.6% at Rs 175. Gujarat Ambuja has spurted over 1% to Rs 147.

Out of 2,587 stocks traded so far, 1,618 have declined, 923 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
