Sensex down 80pts; SBI down 6%

The Sensex is now down 80 points at 14,011.

SBI has plunged 6.4% to Rs 1,098. HDFC Bank has shed over 5% to Rs 1,017, and ICICI Bank has dropped 3.5% to Rs 920.

Maruti has slipped 4% to Rs 855, and HDFC has declined 3% to Rs 1,670.

Grasim has dropped 3.3% to Rs 2,660. Tata Motors has shed over 2% to Rs 847.

Bharti Airtel and Hindalco have surged 2.8% each to Rs 760 and Rs 146, respectively. Reliance Communications has gained 2% at Rs 450.

Wipro, Tata Steel and Reliance Energy have moved up 1.3% each to Rs 646, Rs 438 and Rs 546, respectively.

Out of 2,552 stocks traded so far, 1,606 have declined, 871 have advanced and 45 are unchanged.
