Sensex down 80pts; Tata Motors slumps 7%

The Sensex is now down 80 points at 9,606. The NSE Nifty is down 30 points at 2,938.

Tata Motors has plunged 7.1% to Rs 162. Satyam Computer has slumped 6.5% to Rs 131. DLF has slipped over 3% to Rs 293.

ITC has declined 2.8% to Rs 173. Reliance Communication and Mahindra and Mahindra have slipped 2.5% each to Rs 211 and Rs 283, respectively.

Grasim, TCS and Bharti Airtel have dropped 2.3% each to Rs 1,189, Rs 489 and Rs 695, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure has shed over 2% at Rs 577. Tata Steel and ONGC are down 1.8% each at Rs 217 and Rs 676, respectively.

 

Ranbaxy has gained 2.5% to Rs 219, and Wipro has moved up 1.8% to Rs 247.

State Bank of India is up 1.7% at Rs 1,285 while ICICI Bank has advanced 1.4% to Rs 433.

BHEL has inched up 1.4% to Rs 1,384.
