Sensex down 82pts; HDFC sheds 3%

The Sensex is now down 82 points at 19,884.

HDFC has dropped 3% to Rs 2,835. TCS and Hindustan Unilever have slipped 2.5% each to Rs 1,035 and Rs 203, respectively.

Tata Motors and BHEL have shed 2% each to Rs 755 and Rs 2,687, respectively.

NTPC has declined 1.8% to Rs 242. Cipla, Mahindra & Mahindra and ITC are down 1.3% each at Rs 194, Rs 769 and Rs 187, respectively.

ICICI Bank has surged 2.3% to Rs 1,277. Hindalco has moved up 1.5% to Rs 191.

Infosys has gained 1% at Rs 1,735.

Out of 2,837 stocks traded so far, 1,979 have advanced, 829 have declined and 29 are unchanged.
