Sensex down 84pts; SBI, Reliance weigh

The Sensex is now down 84 points at 17,742.

The NSE Nifty is down 20 points at 5,249.

SBI has tumbled nearly 3% to Rs 2,022, and Reliance has slipped nearly 2% to Rs 2,540.

ACC has shed 1.5% at Rs 804. ICICI Bank and DLF have slipped 1.3% each to Rs 1,099 and Rs 814, respectively.

Ambuja Cements is down over 1% at Rs 121.

Hindalco has surged nearly 3% to Rs 202. Cipla and Mahindra & Mahindra have gained 2.3% each at Rs 206 and Rs 674, respectively.

Ranbaxy has moved up 1.7% to Rs 444. BHEL and HDFC have added 1.5% each to Rs 2,294 and Rs 2,725, respectively.

Bajaj Auto is up over 1% at Rs 2,200.

Out of 2,730 stocks traded so far, 1,521 have declined, 1,147 have advanced and 62 are unchanged.
