The Sensex opened 31 points lower at 14,647. The index is now down 85 points at 14,593.
Grasim has dropped over 2% to Rs 1,982. NTPC has shed 1.8% at Rs 181.
Jaiprakash Associates has slipped 1.5% to Rs 169. HDFC, SBI and Reliance Infrastructure have declined 1.3% each to Rs 2,281, Rs 1,427 and Rs 997, respectively.
Tata Motors, however, has surged over 4% to Rs 442.
