Sensex down 85pts; NTPC gains 2%

The Sensex is now down 85 points at 14,567.

Satyam and ACC have slipped over 3% each to Rs 470 and Rs 1,034, respectively.

Reliance Communications has shed 2.5% to Rs 477. Gujarat Ambuja, Larsen & Toubro, Maruti and Reliance Energy are down around 2% each at Rs 138, Rs 1,715, Rs 945 and Rs 556, respectively.

Bajaj Auto has rallied 3% to Rs 3,098. NTPC has advanced over 2% to Rs 146.

Wipro and Tata Motors are up over 1% each at Rs 644 and Rs 905, respectively.

Out of 2,698 stocks traded, 2,009 have declined, 644 have advanced and 45 are unchanged.
