Sensex down 88pts; ONGC drops 5%

The Sensex is now down 88 points at 18,405.

ONGC has slumped 4.7% to Rs 1,090. Mahindra & Mahindra and Grasim have plunged 3.7% each to Rs 745 and Rs 3,560, respectively.

Tata Motors, Wipro, BHEL and Infosys have slipped around 2% each to Rs 778, Rs 482, Rs 2,250 and Rs 1,848, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's and Bajaj Auto have declined 1.3% each to Rs 626 and Rs 2,491, respectively.

Ambuja Cements and ACC are down 1% each at Rs 143 and Rs 1,055, respectively.

Reliance Energy has surged 3.4% to Rs 1,575, and SBI has soared over 3% to Rs 1,870.

Satyam has rallied 1.8% to Rs 470, and Cipla has gained 1.5% at Rs 196.

Maruti and Tata Steel are up over 1% each at Rs 1,116 and Rs 905, respectively.
 
Out of 2,562 stocks traded so far, 1,305 have advanced, 1,179 have declined, 78 are unchanged.
