Sensex down 88pts; Ranbaxy up 2%

The Sensex is now down 88 points at 14,315.

Grasim has shed 2.3% to Rs 2,590. ONGC, Tata Motors, HDFC, Reliance Communications and Maruti have slipped around 2% each to Rs 887, Rs 851, Rs 1,661, Rs 454 and Rs 898, respectively.

Gujarat Ambuja, Wipro, Larsen & Toubro and SBI have declined around 1.5% each to Rs 131, Rs 669, Rs 1,669 and Rs 1,114, respectively.

Ranbaxy has moved up 1.6% to Rs 398. ITC and Reliance are the other major gainers.

Out of 2,589 stocks traded, 1,825 have declined, 708 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
