Sensex down 88pts; SBI slips 2%

The Sensex is now down 88 points at 17,737.

The NSE Nifty is down 21 points at 5,246.

Ambuja Cements and SBI have shed 2.5% each at Rs 120 and Rs 2,034, respectively. ACC has dropped 1.8% to Rs 801.

Reliance has slipped 1.5% to Rs 2,549. ICICI Bank and DLF are down over 1% each at Rs 1,100 and Rs 815, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has gained 2.3% at Rs 674. Cipla and Hindalco have moved up 1.8% each to Rs 205 and Rs 199, respectively.

Bajaj Auto has advanced 1.5% to Rs 2,209, and HDFC Bank has added 1.3% to Rs 1,470.

Ranbaxy is up 1% at Rs 441.

Out of 2,671 stocks traded so far, 1,504 have declined, 1,102 have advanced and 65 are unchanged.
