Sensex down 89pts; ITC slips 2%

The Sensex tumbled to a low of 11,390, and is now down 89 points at 11,414.

HDFC has dropped 2.7% to Rs 1,282. Bajaj Auto and Cipla have slipped over 2% each to Rs 2,692 and Rs 246, respectively.

ITC has shed 1.7% to Rs 179. Tata Steel, Grasim, Hindalco, Maruti, Larsen & Toubro and Bharti Airtel are down over 1% each.

NTPC has gained 1% at Rs 124.

Out of 2,539 stocks traded so far, 1,585 have declined, 885 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
