Sensex down 89pts; market breadth negative

The Sensex dropped to a low of 12,356 - down 189 points from the new all-time high 12,545 touched earlier in the day.

The index is now down 89 points at 12,374.

Hindalco has slipped 2.3% to Rs 224. Bharti Tele and Dr.Reddy's have shed 2% each to Rs 413 and Rs 1,650, respectively.

ITC has declined 1.7% to Rs 204. BHEL, Tata Steel and Tata Motors are down 1.3% each at Rs 2,370, Rs 636 and Rs 951, respectively.

HLL, Reliance and Maruti are down over 1% each.

Bajaj Auto has rallied 1.7% to Rs 3,180. Reliance Energy is up 1% at Rs 630.

The market breadth is negative. Out of 2,374 stocks traded so far, 1,268 have declined, 1,058 have advanced and 48 are unchanged.
