Sensex down 89pts; SBI, Reliance weak

The Sensex is now down 89 points at 17,737.

The NSE Nifty is down 24 points at 5,244.

Ambuja Cements and SBI have shed 2.5% each at Rs 120 and Rs 2,032, respectively.

Reliance has dropped nearly 2% to Rs 2,538, and ACC has slipped 1.7% to Rs 802.

DLF and ICICI Bank have declined 1.5% each to Rs 813 and Rs 1,096, respectively.

Hindalco has surged 3.3% to Rs 203. Cipla has moved up 1.7% to Rs 205.

Satyam and Mahindra & Mahindra are up around 1% each at Rs 442 and Rs 665, respectively.

Out of 2,540 stocks traded so far, 1,553 have declined, 916 have advanced and 71 are unchanged.
