Sensex down 93pts; Cipla surges 4%

The Sensex is now down 93 points at 12,604.

Gujarat Ambuja has slumped 8.7% to Rs 104. ACC has plunged 5.5% to Rs 808.

Wipro has tumbled nearly 5% to Rs 553, and Ranbaxy has shed 4.6% to Rs 307.

SBI and HLL have dropped 3% each to Rs 961 and Rs 167, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Maruti, Hindalco and ITC have declined around 2.5% each to Rs 829, Rs 770, Rs 127 and Rs 158, respectively.

Cipla has surged 3.8% to Rs 230, and Dr.Reddy's has rallied 3% to Rs 639.

HDFC has advanced over 2% to Rs 1,535. Reliance Communications has moved up 1.6% to Rs 407.

Larsen & Toubro and Tata Motors are up 1.4% each at Rs 1,447 and Rs 736, respectively.

Out of 2,557 stocks traded so far, 1,987 have declined, 527 have advanced and 43 are unchanged.
