Sensex down 96pts; market breadth -ve

The Sensex is now down 96 points at 10,197.

Reliance has shed 3% to Rs 1,000. Gujarat Ambuja and Reliance Communications have slipped nearly 3% each to Rs 101 and Rs 241, respectively.

Tata Steel has shed 2.5% to Rs 481. ACC, ITC and Hindalco have dropped over 2% each to Rs 801, Rs 169 and Rs 163, respectively.

Grasim, Maruti, ICICI Bank and SBI are down over 1.5% each.

Ranbaxy has gained 1.6% at Rs 326. HDFC, HLL and ONGC have advanced over 1% each to Rs 1,092, Rs 232 and 1,040, respectively.

The market breadth is extremely negative - out of 2,033 stocks traded so far, 1,473 have declined, 489 have advanced and 71 are unchanged.
