Sensex down 96pts; TCS sheds 3%

The Sensex continues to slip to lower levels, and is now down 96 points at 12,271.

TCS has dropped 2.7% to Rs 987. HDFC and BHEL have slipped over 2% each to Rs 1,445 and Rs 2,322, respectively.

HDFC Bank, Wipro and Reliance Communications have declined around 1.5% each to Rs 906, Rs 512 and Rs 342, respectively.

ACC, Dr.Reddy's, Hero Honda and ITC are down over 1% each.

Reliance Energy and Tata Motors have gained around 1.3% each at Rs 493 and Rs 881, respectively.

Out of 2,312 stocks traded so far, 1,156 have advanced, 1,065 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
