Sensex down 98pts; Wipro, RCom slip 2%

The Sensex is now down 98 points at 14,821.

Infosys has dropped 2% to Rs 1,844. Wipro and Reliance Communications have shed 1.7% each to Rs 459 and Rs 511, respectively.

HDFC, NTPC, Reliance Energy and HDFC Bank have slipped around 1.5% each to Rs 1,949, Rs 165, Rs 755 and Rs 1,136, respectively.

SBI and ACC have declined 1.3% each to Rs 1,528 and Rs 1,014, respectively.

Satyam, BHEL, Larsen & Toubro, ICICI Bank, Maruti, Hindalco, Grasim, Cipla, Bharti Airtel and Mahindra & Mahindra are the other major losers.

Tata Steel has gained 1% at Rs 612. ONGC and Tata Motors are the other gainers among the index stocks.
