Sensex down 99pts; breadth -ve

The Sensex is now down 99 points at 13,979.

Reliance has dropped 2% to Rs 1,589. Satyam has shed 1.7% to Rs 471.

HDFC and Larsen & Toubro have slipped around 1.5% each to Rs 1,653 and Rs 1,715, respectively.

Hero Honda, Bharti Airtel and ITC are down around 1% each at Rs 696, Rs 825 and Rs 160, respectively.

Cipla has gained 2% at Rs 216, and SBI has moved up 1.8% to Rs 1,142.

ACC, HLL and Reliance Communications are up around 1% each at Rs 863, Rs 198 and Rs 476, respectively.

Out of 2,561 stocks traded so far, 1,379 have declined, 1,093 have advanced and 89 are unchanged.
