Sensex down nearly 200pts; ONGC, TCS drag

The Sensex opened 65 points lower at 13,482, and has since slipped deeper into red to a low of 13,333. The index is now down 188 points at 13,360.

Grasim, ONGC and Mahindra & Mahindra have tumbled over 3% each to Rs 1,795, Rs 1,038 and Rs 542, respectively.

TCS has plunged 2.8% to Rs 671. Wipro, Tata Steel and DLF have dropped 2.3% each at Rs 345, Rs 474 and Rs 380, respectively.

Sterlite, HDFC and Infosys have slipped over 2% each to Rs 467, Rs 2,120 and Rs 1,473, respectively.

NTPC, Maruti, ITC, ICICI Bank and Satyam are also down around 2% each.

 

Jaiprakash Associates has advanced 1.5% to Rs 125, and Hindustan Unilever has added 1% to Rs 252.
