Sensex down over 300pts; Reliance, ONGC shed 3%

The Sensex continues to slide deeper into red and is now down 320 points at 14,343.

Reliance Infrastructure has slumped over 4% to Rs 991. DLF and ICICI Bank have plunged over 3.5% each to Rs 483 and Rs 676, respectively.

Reliance, Bharti Airtel and ONGC have tumbled over 3% each to Rs 2,017, Rs 787 and Rs 1,044, respectively.

HDFC has dropped 3% to Rs 2,252. SBI, Tata Power and Jaiprakash Associates have shed 2.8% each at Rs 1,521, Rs 1,020 and Rs 163, respectively.

NTPC, Hindalco, Satyam and Hindustan Unilever have slipped around 2% each to Rs 174, Rs 122, Rs 414 and Rs 246, respectively.

 

Tata Steel, BHEL, Reliance Communications, ITC, Wipro and HDFC Bank are down around 1.5% each.

Ranbaxy has moved up 1.5% to Rs 465. Tata Motors is the only other gainer among the index stocks.

The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,442 stocks traded so far, 1,678 have declined, 690 have advanced and 74 are unchanged.
