Sensex drops 222pts; Grasim, HLL lead fall

The Sensex has slipped deeper into red and is now down 222 points at 9539.

Grasim has dropped 4.5% to Rs 1,566. HLL has shed 3.7% to Rs 212.

Tata Power, HDFC and Hero Honda have slipped 3% each to Rs 448, Rs 1,130 and Rs 718, respectively.

ITC (Rs 148), Reliance Energy (Rs 393), Reliance (Rs 868), Infosys (Rs 2,690) and Dr.Reddy's (Rs 1,235) are the other prominent losers.

Hindalco has spurted 1.3% to Rs 156, and Larsen & Toubro is the only other gainer among the Sensex stocks.
