Sensex drops 236pts; Hindalco plunges 11%

The Sensex is now down 236 points at 14,303.

Hindalco has plunged nearly 11% to Rs 155. Reliance Communications has tumbled over 4% to Rs 455.

Reliance Energy and ACC have shed 3.3% each to Rs 537 and Rs 1,001, respectively. Larsen & Toubro has dropped 2.7% to Rs 1,670.

NTPC, Bajaj Auto, Grasim, Ranbaxy and Tata Motors are down over 2% each to Rs 142, Rs 2,981, Rs 2,770, Rs 409 and Rs 888, respectively.
