Sensex drops 42pts

The Sensex has dropped 42 points to 8,853.

HLL has declined Rs 3 to Rs 185. Reliance is still down Rs 5 at Rs 838. ONGC has slipped Rs 6 to Rs 1,074. SBI is now down Rs 4 at Rs 882.

L&T has slipped 1.8% (Rs 31) to Rs 1,670. HDFC is still down 1.6% (Rs 18) at Rs 1,102.

Cipla is  now up 1.4% (Rs 6) at Rs 418.

BHEL is still up Rs 13 at Rs 1,380. Bajaj is now up Rs 17 at Rs 2,007. Maruti is up Rs 3 at Rs 622.

Infosys is still up Rs 17 at Rs 2,817, and TCS is still up Rs 12 at Rs 1,608. Wipro and Satyam are trading with losses.

Torrent Pharma has zoomed 18% (Rs 125) to Rs 800. DSP Merrill Lynch is now up 6% (Rs 124) at Rs 2,099.
