Sensex drops 44pts, HDFC down 2%

The Sensex has declined 44 points to 7,101.

Infosys has slipped 1.5% (Rs 36) to Rs 2,355. Reliance is steady at Rs 650 - down Rs 6. ONGC and ITC continue to trade on a weak note.

TCS has declined 1.8% (Rs 25) to Rs 1,309. Satyam and Wipro are also in the red.

HDFC has dropped 2% (Rs 17) to Rs 854.

Bajaj is still up 2% (Rs 25) at Rs 1,296. Hero Honda is steady at rS 565 - up 2% (Rs 11).

BHEL is up a per cent (Rs 8) at Rs 862.

Reliance Capital is the most active counter with a turnover of Rs 110 crore followed by Reliance (Rs 86 crore) and Tata Steel (Rs 70 crore).
