Sensex drops 482pts; Reliance declines 5%

The Sensex has slipped deeper into red and is now down 482 points at 19,219.

DLF has tumbled 8% to Rs 999. NTPC has slumped 5.3% to Rs 242.

Reliance has plunged 4.5% to Rs 2,862, and HDFC Bank has dropped 3.5% to Rs 1,590.

ONGC, Reliance Communications and Tata Steel have slipped around 2.5% each to Rs 1,218, Rs 712 and Rs 791, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Cipla and Larsen & Toubro have declined over 2% each to Rs 1,293, Rs 205 and Rs 3,992, respectively.

BHEL and Maruti are also down 2% each at Rs 2,300 and Rs 850, respectively.

Ranbaxy has zoomed 6.6% to Rs 392. ACC, Grasim and Satyam are up over 1% each at Rs 870, Rs 3,340 and Rs 376, respectively.

Out of 2,862 stocks traded so far, 2,268 have declined, 552 have advanced and 42 are unchanged.
