Sensex drops 674pts; ICICI, NTPC drag

The Sensex is now down 674 points at 18,607.

ICICI Bank has tumbled 7.4% to Rs 1,081. NTPC has plunged over 7% to Rs 242.

BHEL and ITC have slumped 5.5% each to Rs 2,505 and Rs 186, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and Maruti have shed 5% each at Rs 4,115 and Rs 959, respectively.

Reliance, Tata Steel and Hindalco have dropped 4.8% each at Rs 1,708, Rs 818 and Rs 185, respectively.

DLF and SBI are down 4.3% each at Rs 868 and Rs 2,181, respectively.

Out of 2,831 stocks traded so far, 2,112 have declined, 683 have advanced and 36 are unchanged.
