Sensex drops 77pts

The Sensex has dropped 77 points to 11,953.

ONGC and Larsen & Toubro have gained over 1% each at Rs 1,358 and Rs 2,740, respectively.

Hindalco, HLL and ITC are up nearly 1% each at Rs 213, Rs 287 and Rs 202, respectively.

HDFC Bank has plunged over 4% to Rs 815. ICICI Bank has slipped over 2% to Rs 577.

Wipro has slumped 3.5% to Rs 530. Satyam has slipped nearly 3% to Rs 785. Infosys has shed 1.5% to Rs 3,245, and TCS is down over 1% at Rs 1,972.

Tata Motors, Tata Power and NTPC are the other prominent losers among the Sensex stocks.

Out of 2,491 stocks traded so far, 1,414 have advanced, 1,018 have declined and 59 are unchanged.
