The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 29 points at 8,232, and touched a high of 8,317 in early morning deals. Selling commenced in late noon deals, and the index dropped to a low of 8,068 towards the closing bell. The Sensex finally closed with a loss of 80 points (0.985) at 8,122. Infosys slipped 2% (Rs 56) to Rs 2,531. Satyam declined over 3% (Rs 18) to Rs 553. Wipro was down 2% (Rs 9) at Rs 373. TCS, however, was up Rs 5 at Rs 1,439. Reliance dropped Rs 14 (1.8%) to Rs 757. SBI was down Rs 13 at Rs 911. ONGC slipped Rs 7 to Rs 982. Ranbaxy tanked nearly 5% (Rs 21) to Rs 419. Dr. Reddy's was down over 3% (Rs 27) at Rs 849. Cipla, however, was up Rs 10 at Rs 396. BHEL dropped Rs 22 to Rs 1,172. Tata Power was down Rs 10 at Rs 428, and Tata Steel declined Rs 10 to Rs 374. Hero Honda moved up 3% (Rs 21) to Rs 717. Maruti added Rs 7 to Rs 552. Bajaj declined Rs 15 to Rs 1,773. Tata Motors was down Rs 7 at Rs 520. L&T gained Rs 23 to Rs 1,433. Bharti was up Rs 3 at Rs 323. ACC was up Rs 2 at Rs 448, and Hindalco was up a rupee at Rs 131. |
