Sensex drops 84pts

The Sensex has declined 84 points to 7,667.

ONGC is now down over 2% (Rs 21) to Rs 969. SBI is down Rs 9 at Rs 781. Reliance has declined Rs 7 to Rs 692.

Infosys has slipped Rs 28 to Rs 2,291.

Cipla has declined over 3% (Rs 11) to Rs 346. Dr. Reddy's, Hindalco, Grasim, Maruti and Tata Steel are also trading with losses.

ITC is still up Rs 9 at Rs 1,697. Tata Motors, TCS, Hero Honda and NTPC are in positive zones.

Declines have outnumbered advances nearly 2:1 - out of 2,561 scrips traded till now, 1,646 have declined, 884 have advanced and 51 are unchanged.

Patel Engineering is the most active counter with a turnover of over Rs 101 crore followed by Reliance (Rs 86 crore), Reliance Capital (Rs 45 crore), IFSL (Rs 34 crore) and Satyam (Rs 29 crore).
