The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 22 points at 11,488, but soon slipped into the negative zone. Selling in early trades saw the index slip to a low of 11,376 - down 112 points in just five minutes from the day's open. Fresh buying at lower levels saw the index recoup losses and rebound into the positive zone. Auto, banking and technology stocks witnessed some buying today. Some short covering towards the close saw the Sensex spurt to a high of 11,532 - up 156 points from the day's low. The index finally ended with a gain of 46 points at 11,512. |
