Sensex ends at 13,487, up 306pts

The Sensex opened with a significant positive gap of 76 points at 13,257. After moving further up the index pared some gains to touch a low of 13,240 in the opening trades.

Unabated buying in bank, FMCG and technology stocks saw the index stage a steady upmove. A fresh round of buying towards the close saw the index cross the 13,500-mark to touch a high of 13,525.

The Sensex finally settled with a gain of 306 points at 13,487.
