Sensex ends down 126pts at 20,701

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 91 points at 20,918, and soon touched a high of 20,986. However, selling pressure at higher levels forced the index drop into the negative zone in late morning trades.

Sustained selling pressure in technology and select financial stocks saw the index slip to a low of 20,662 - down 324 points from the day's high.

The Sensex finally ended (provisional) with a loss of 126 points at 20,701.
