The Sensex opened down 246 points at 11,774 on the back of weak cues from the global markets and election outcome worries. The index soon touched a low of 11,696, down 324 points, it recovered and moved up to a high of 11,936. The index, thereafter, was lacklustre and mainly moved sideways for the rest of the day.
The Sensex finally ended (provisional) down 140 points at 11,880.
