Mirroring negative global cues, the Sensex opened 129 points lower at 8,763. The index, thereafter, exhibited lacklustre movement for most part of the trading day.
The selling intensified in late noon trades on further weakness in banking and metal stocks. The Sensex touched a low of 8,570, and finally (provisional) ended with a loss of 328 points at 8,564.
