Sensex ends down 36pts at 15,010

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 54 points at 15,100. The index touched a high of 15,115 in morning trades and thereafter drifted lower as the day progressed. Auto and technology stocks were the major gainers today.

The index slipped into the negative zone to a low of 14,966 - down 149 points from the day's high. Banking, cement and telecom stocks witnessed profit-taking.

The Sensex finally ended with a marginal loss (36 points) at 15,010.
