Sensex ends down 808pts at 15,563

The Sensex opened with a negative gap of 144 points at 16,227 on the back of negative cues from global markets.

Unabated selling in capital goods, financial and technology stocks saw the index slip to lower levels as the day progressed. The Sensex finally ended (provisional) with a loss of 808 points at 15,563.

The NSE Nifty dropped 234 points to close (provisional) at 4,708.
