The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 173 points at 14,215. The index touched a high of 14,221, and soon slipped into the negative zone. The index rebounded and thereafter exhitbited lacklustre movement for most of the trading day.
Selective profit-taking saw the index slip to a low of 13,917 - down 304 points from the day's high. The Sensex finally ended with a loss of 90 points at 13,953.
