Sensex ends up 120pts at 14,338

Weak cues from the global markets saw the Sensex open with a huge negative gap of 144 points at 14,074, the index further slipped to a low of 14,046. However, fresh buying at lower levels saw the index recoup losses as the day progressed.

Technology stocks in particular attracted aggressive buying in the latter part of the trading day which saw the index rebound into the positive zone. Buying in select other heavyweights coupled with short-covering towards the end saw the index soar to a high of 14,365 - up 319 points from the day's low.

The Sensex finally ended with a gain of 120 points at 14,338. The index, thus, gained 35 points for the week.
