Sensex ends up 144pts

The Sensex has finally ended (provisional) at 14,638, up 144 points.

SensexThe Sensex touched a high of 14,727 and is now up 139 points at 14,633.

DLF has surged 4.5% to Rs 325. Mahindra & Mahindra and Bharti Airtel have gained 3% each at Rs 713 and Rs 825, respectively.

Sun Pharma and Reliance Communications have added 2.5% each to Rs 1,121 and Rs 297, respectively. SBI, Tata Motors and Reliance Infrastructure have advancedaround 2% each.

Reliance, Infosys, ICICI Bank and TCS are also up.

However, Hindalco has shed 4.5% at Rs 82. ACC and ONGC have dropped over 1% each to Rs 757 and Rs 1,056, respectively.

 

The market breadth continues to be negative. Out of 2,623 stocks traded, 1,404 have declined while 1,139 have advanced.
