The Sensex finally ended (provisional) at 14,916, up 257 points.

The Sensex has rallied on the back of fresh buying in banking ,healthcare and power stocks. The index has touched a high of 14,941, up 442 points from the day's low. The index is now at 14,900, up 243 points.
The BSE Bankex has added 2.25% at 8,464.
HDFC has soared 6% to Rs 2,549. Tata Steel and Mahindra & Mahindra have advanced around 4% each to Rs 437 and Rs 740, respectively.
SBI and ICICI Bank have added over 3% each to Rs 1,816 and Rs 755, respectively.
Reliance Infrastructures has gained 2.5% at Rs 1,288.
Jaiprakash Associates, Larsen & Toubro, Bharti Airtel, NTPC, BHEL and Tata Power are up 1.5% each.

While, Hero Honda has slipped 1% to Rs 1,370.
The market breadth is marginally negative- out of 2,616 shares traded, 1,243 have advanced and 1,284 have declined so far on the BSE.
