Sensex ends up 267pts at 9,314

The Sensex opened 79 points higher at 9,126 backed by a recovery in global markets. Steady buying, therafter, mainly in the enery and metal sectors saw the index display firm trend throughout the day.

The Sensex touched a high of 9,340 at the fag end of the day, and finally (provisional) ended with a gain of 267 points at 9,314.
