Sensex ends up nearly 300pts at 20,640

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 23 points at 20,368, which also turned out to be the low for the day. The index hit a high of 20,763 points in late noon deals.

The Sensex finally closed (provisional) with a gain of 295 points at 20,640.

The index had closed with a loss of 120 points at 20,345 yesterday.
