The Sensex opened firm with a gain of 27 points at 6,250, and added another nine points to touch an early high of 6,259. However, the bearish trend since the last few sessions saw the index soon erase its gains to slip below the 6,200 mark. After touching a low of 6,198, the Sensex is currently weak at 6,204 - down 19 points. The Nifty, too, also a firm opening is down a point at 1,951. Reliance (down Rs 2 to Rs 523) and HLL (down a rupee to Rs 140) are trading with marginal losses. ITC, however, has clocked a per cent gain (Rs 8) to Rs 1,281. Infosys is down nearly a per cent (Rs 10) at Rs 1,961, after the tech bellwether reported a 51% surge in Q3 net profits. While Wipro has added Rs 5 to Rs 678, Satyam is up Rs 2 at Rs 373. Ranbaxy has crashed 4.19% (Rs 46) to Rs 1,063. While Cipla has shed 2.20% to Rs 262, Dr. Reddy's is up a rupee at Rs 765. Hero Honda has lost 1.13% (Rs 6) to Rs 567. While BHEL is up a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 742, Hindalco is down a per cent (Rs 12) at Rs 1,240. |
