Sensex extends losses, down 151pts

The Sensex has slipped further into the red and is now down 151 points at 11,717.

The Realty index has plunged over 5% to 2,234.

sensexThe Sensex after moving sideways has now extended losses and is now down 71 points at 11,805. Earlier in the day it touched a high of 12,027.

Realty stocks are the major draggers.

Tata Motors has slipped over 3.5% to Rs 258. DLF and HDFC have declined 3% each to Rs 233 and Rs 1,690, respectively.

Ranbaxy, Hindustan Unilever and Jaiprakash Associates have dropped over 2% to Rs 174, Rs 228 and Rs 139, respectively.

 

On the other hand, ICICI Bank has advanced over 3% to Rs 537.

The market breadth is negative- out of 2,286 shares traded, 1,221 have advanced and 968 have declined.
