Sensex extends losses; ICICI Bank firm

The Sensex has extended losses and is now down 135 points at 14,387.

Updated at 1320 Hrs:

SensexThe Sensex slipped to a low of 14,444, on the back of subdued cues from the European markets and continued selling in the oil & gas stocks.

The index is now 50 points lower at 14,471.

The BSE Oil & Gas index has shed 2% to 9,166.
 
Reliance and ONGC have dropped over 2% each to Rs 1,981 and Rs 989, respectively.

Tata Motors has slipped 3.5% to Rs 333. NTPC has shed 3% to Rs 192.

Reliance Infrastructure, Mahindra & Mahindra, Sun Pharma and TCS are down 2-2.5% each.

 

ICICI Bank has gained 3.5% to Rs 738.

ITC, Larsen & Toubro and HDFC have added over 1% each to Rs 202, Rs 1,517 and Rs 2,319, respectively.

The market breadth is neutral, out of 2,463 shares traded, 1,185 have advanced and 1,195 have declined so far on the BSE.
