Sensex firm; breadth fairly +ve

The Sensex continues to display strength and is now up 364 points at 10,328.

Sterlite has zoomed 13.5% to Rs 280, and Tata Steel has soared 10.5% to Rs 210.

BHEL has surged 7.5% to Rs 1,509. Larsen & Toubro, ICICI Bank and ONGC have rallied over 6% each to Rs 925, Rs 458 and Rs 787, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates and Reliance Infrastructure have moved up nearly 6% each to Rs 93 and Rs 593, respectively.

Tata Power and NTPC have advanced around 5% each to Rs 775 and Rs 159, respectively. Reliance has added 4.7% to Rs 1,275.

Hindalco, Bharti Airtel, Ranbaxy and Tata Motors are up around 4% each.

 

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,370 stocks traded so far, 1,583 have advanced, 722 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
