Sensex firm in early trades

The Indian markets opened firm mirroring strong Asian cues. The Sensex is now at 17,620, up 92 points. The NSE Nifty is  25 points at 5,274.

Among the Sensex-30 stocks, Mahindra & Mahindra and Hero Honda have added 1.5% each at Rs 553 and Rs 1,972, respectively.

Reliance Communications, Tata Motors, DLF and Tata Steel are up 1% each at Rs 172, Rs 764, Rs 312 and Rs 639, respectively.

Tata Power and HUL are down 0.5% each at Rs 1,367 and Rs 238, respectively.
